Skating Lessons
Description
Professional skating instructors using the United States Figure Skating
Association basic skills program instruct the learn to skate classes.
The program is designed for skaters aged four through adult. Figure
skating as well as hockey classes are available. Ice Centre classes
are grouped by level and when possible by age. Most classes are limited
to a maximum of 10 skaters. Classes are held once a week on Tuesdays,
Thursdays, or Saturdays and last for thirty minutes with approximately
an hour of practice time. A $5 discount is available to City of Westminster
and Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District residents. Valid recreation
ID cards are required at time of registration. Skate rental is available
for class participants for $1 per session.

Hints
-Skaters that have not taken classes at the Ice Centre within the last
six months must come to the Ice Centre to register.
-Hours for registration are: 7a-530p M-F and Noon - 3p Sat.
-Returning skaters may register over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard,
a $2 fee will be assessed for these registrations.
-Register early to ensure a spot in class.
-Discounts are available to City of Westminster or Hyland Hills Recreation
District ID residents with valid recreation ID card (Card must be presented
at time of registration).
-Skaters should dress warmly including gloves or mittens – please
no shorts.
-Bicycle or hockey helmets are encouraged for safety but are not required
(Helmets are not available for rental).
-Please arrive early on the first day of lessons to rent skates, check
in, and find your instructor.
